Nationalist on Google Earth

13 September 2008 9 Comments

This image is a capture of Google Earth. And this indicates the degree of differentiation of the nationalism in Spain. Although Catalonia is part of Spain, the nationalists (including those who are on the government of the Autonomic Region of Catalonia) are taking the lead on any initiative that will allow them to create a culture of differentiation. By shadowing Catalonia, they want to indicate that this is not a part of Spain, which, by the way, is not true.

Why Google Earth is allowing this? Why? I make guilty for this not only the nationalism but also the enormous laxity to this blight and misery in Spain, and the big lack of understanding of entities such as Google, for allowing this. As soon as I discover a similar tool, I will be using this tool instead of Google Earth.

Ignorance is so large… If look close you’ll see that the reason why catalonia appears in a lighter colour is because those images where taken from a different source than the rest for spain. Do you still believe that the companies that took those photographies were influenciated by catalonian nationalism? then you have political prejudices

  • gerenton (author) said:

Maybe you are right but… Does not seems strange that the images are only on a lighter colour in Catalonia? Why is this? Why “a different source”?

Political prejudices are all over the world!

I don’t know, you don’t know, so don’t accuse them, do you really believe that catalonian nationalism has “tentacles” in google headquarters? don’t think like that, wonder anything but don’t accuse at first sight

Regarding nationalists, I can believe everything. And I have enough reasons to be suspicious.

You can be surprised where the nationalists has tentacles!

    Hello, Gerenton,

Further than the fact that it is extremely suspicious that the “other source” was only used for Catalonia, there’s a good reason for accusing, and I do.

The point is not whether the different colour on the map is due to technical or “tentacles” reasons; the point is that Catalonia is part of Spain and no authority has done a thing to ensure the accuracy of the map. Of course google does not give a damn on it, there’s no reason why google should care (other than tentacles…), but there’s a reason for the Spanish Government to demand that accuracy from google.

It’s not surprising the Government doesn’s. Let’s remember how the President spoke for the press in front of a map of Morocco that outrageously included Spanish territories.

    Good Bye Spain. R.I.P.

    Malintzin.
