Censorship happens in Spain!
Remember 80’s in Madrid? I remember very well coming from Huelva to the University. Madrid’s Gran Vía was full of life. There was a McDonalds (my first experience with my classmate Eduardo!), there was a lot of people walking, there was also Madrid Rock (the best shop about music ever in Spain) and there was … Kentucky Fried Chicken!
About music, I remember that there was the times of Mecano, Héroes del Silencio, Hombres G, etc. Ramoncín (José Ramón Julio Martínez Márquez) was something sometimes good, but more …

Today is the day. The Goya Awards. A Spanish version of the Oscar Awards. And my question is… who cares? Spanish cinema is losing more and more spectators. And the quality of Spanish films is getting worse. There are many reasons for this. First is the Spanish government regulation for film subsidies. Spanish government finance 33% of the budget of the film (with a limit of 700.000 euros). But not only this: there are other subsidies, from regional governments. This makes that the quantity of the films is higher, but …

I must admit I like classical music, and I sometimes take my time to see the New Year’s Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic. Yesterday, the orchestre performance was fantastic, as usual, but Mr. Barenboims performance was terrific as well.
Nevertheless, when the time of celebration and best wishes came, Mr. Barenboims acted as he used to act. He toasted for a justice on the relationships on the Middle East. But Mr. Barenboims knows pretty well that this is, at this moment, unreachable.
Mr. Barenboim likes this type of situation. Being in the …

… does not go to a debate. Like in any other area of the life, of the politics, when the left is not right, when it does not have the reason (never has the reason), they boycotts it.
For example, not allowing the others to talk. Remember the second debate Mr. Zapatero vs. Mr. Rajoy, when, with the compliance of implicit permission of the moderator, Mr. Zapatero interrupted always when Mr. Rajoy was talking. Other examples: Daniel Múgica, on the TV program El gato al agua of Intereconomía TV.
The leftists interrupt …

Javier Bardem, the Spanish performer or actor, did some declarations on the New York Times saying that the Spanish people are “una panda de estúpidos” (and I say this in Spanish for not being accused of confusion). Later on, on a press note, he rectified and said that he feels a “deep respect and gratefulness” for the big majority of the Spanish people, and that said that the declarations were misunderstood due to linguistic communication.
I do not have a big consideration of Javier Bardem. A person who has positioned clearly …

After the tremendous plane crash in Madrid, one can expect some signs of comprehension on the institutions and authorities. And, yes, most of them showed that respect for the enormous drama that the families of the dead, from all over the world.
But… not all the institutions are that comprehensive. For instance, the football match yesterday between Spain and Denmark was played, and this is something that cannot be understood for some people here in Spain. But the right example of the wrong things is the IOC.
Responding to a demand for …

The new condemnatory judgement to Federico Jiménez Losantos has been received by the leftist media by gabble and delight. Even more, with very much delight. But not only on the leftist media; it has been also applauded by the minister of Justice.
Well, nothing new. I continue thinking what I have said here in other posts. First, and this is not new, that the judge does not want to understand the radio environment, which is real close to the political commentarists. Second, that there is not a matter of insulting or …

There are a lot of things that happens in Spain, but now, instead of talking about the crisis, the inflation (the worst inflation on Spain from a long time ago), the attacks of the nationalisms on Spain (with the new attack to the integrity from Ibarreche), etc., I would like to talk about other things, less critical.
Taking into account the different issues opened in Spain by their ministers, there is clear that new words should be added to the Spanish vocabulary, the Spanish dictionary. New words to include tendencies of …

Freedom of expression is a right, a human right, included also on the partial islamist Cairo Declaration of Human Rights. But is simply that, a human right that can be infringed or violated even on the so called Western civilization.
There are examples, there are too much examples of violation of this human right. The last one, on my personal point of view, has been perpetrated on Spain, on the lawsuit against radio star Jiménez Losantos. This person has been condemned just for the only fact of criticizing the mayor of …

As usual on the left politic side, inheriting comunists customs, it happens again and again: the clear and unhidden attempt of censorship of the media (newspapers, radios, tv channels, etc.) critic with the establishment. There are a lot of examples, from the politicians to wage-earning periodists.
Let us begin with an example: the COPE radio station, an independent radio station on Spain. Independent because the stars on this station are free, criticizing even bishops; let us remember that the bigger shareholders of this radio station is the Catholic Church, through its …
