Everything is possible for the nationalist to achieve is goals; everything is legitimate. Everything including fraud.
I will explain myself this: on 2.006 archeologists discovered the most ancient words in euskera, the Basque language, dating it on the 3rd Century. This was revolutionary and was perceived as a fact that, definetively, differentiate the Basques from the Spanish society.
Now, the Provincial Government of Álava, one of the three provinces of the Basque Autonomic Region, on a recent study, discovered that this is a fraud. Not only the text were corresponding to different …

The regional government of Catalonia, la Generalidad or Generalitat, has expressed its position with regard to an article on The Economist, and demands excuses to The Economist for this.
I have gone through the article, and it is expressing a, let me say, a soft vision of what happens in Spain. In fact, the article praises the State of Autonomies for various reasons. Including on this “liberal thiking”, that is, spreading the power (a kind of spreading the wealth, but in the Spanish way) on the different governments: local, regional and …

This image is a capture of Google Earth. And this indicates the degree of differentiation of the nationalism in Spain. Although Catalonia is part of Spain, the nationalists (including those who are on the government of the Autonomic Region of Catalonia) are taking the lead on any initiative that will allow them to create a culture of differentiation. By shadowing Catalonia, they want to indicate that this is not a part of Spain, which, by the way, is not true.
Why Google Earth is allowing this? Why? I make guilty for …

On a (previous post), I tried to define a concept: soft-terrorism, as the ability or actions (or omissions) of governments (regional, local, judgements etc.) to allow or promote acts conducted or done by terrorism organizations, or, on a more wide range, acts on which the terrorists ar extolled. Acts on which it is or it was crystal clear that the terrorists were to be praised or extolled.
There are recent examples of this. For instance, last week-end, on Barcelona, there were two acts on which the terrorists were prayed, and… Guess …

The beach deputy, the catalan nationalist Mr. Juan Puig, insulted, on his personal blog, to the people of the Extremadura Autonomic Region. This is coming after another insult, from Mr. Luis Suñé (member of ICV, the post-comunist party in Catalonia), who put on his personal blog an image of two tarnished and dirty children saying that “SOS Extremadura. Support a children for 1000 euros a month (See, on Spanish, the Hoy newspaper). The 8,7% of the Catalonian GDP is not enough”.
The message is simple: after the publication for the Spanish …

I have just read the article of Mr. Carlos Ruiz Miguel on La ilustración liberal. On this article, Mr. Ruiz Miguel describes clearly the galician terrorism, and illustrates the links with other organizations such as ETA. It is clear that every nationalism has its own “army”, a set of intellectually incompetent people whose aim is to impose their point of view, their ideas, through the use of the force.
Although there are few victims of this galician terrorism, this is nothing to forget. I assume the thesis that there are links …

The nationalists want the independence. Here and in Canada. Here in Spain and in New Zealand. This is true. This is a tautology. Most (for not to say all) of the people that are commenting against my view of the nationalists want the independence.
But… Do they know the consequences of this? Let me write this clearly. And let me differentiate between political and economic consequences.
The economic consequences have been analysed for the Basque Autonomic Region on various documents, from Alberto Abadie and Javier Gardeazabal work, to the recent Mikel Buesa, …

When I was working for a multi-national firm, and I was to attend and also to teach courses in Chicago, there were some statements that we always had to commit to. One of them was that sentence “respect for the individuals”, since we were coming from different parts of the world.
On present times, when there is a non-hidden nationalism offensive on Spain coming from different fronts, the respect for the individuals must be translated on “respect fot the others”. The nationalisms, on their continuous effort to re-write the history (as …

The third delivery of who the nationalists re-write the history is about the Galicians. Galicia (Galiza in Galician language) does not have to be confused with Galitzia or Galicia, the region between Poland and Ukraine. Galicia is a region on the north of Spain, just on top of Portugal.
The nationalism in Galicia does have little elements to base its creed, its religion, its own existence. The basis for nationalism in Galicia are basically on the myth of Breogán. Breogán is the name of a mythical celt king of Galicia. According …

Catalonia (Cataluña; Catalunya) has never been a nation. Similar to the Basque Country. The history, also with this Autonomous Comunity, has been re-written for the nationalists.
The origin of the nationalism in Catalonia began with Francisco Cambó, leader of the Liga Regionalista. On the peak of the nationalism all over Europe, Mr. Cambó founded this conservative party. His most renowned exploit is the assault to a nationalism newspaper. The next “generation” became with Francisco Maciá founder of the Estat Catalá party, which, together with other parties, constituted Esquerra Republicana de Cataluña …
